Sender - New single "Cover Up" mixed by Beau Hill
Hi to all
We announced the upload of our single the other day but wanted to share the story of how the BH mix came about::
Beau had a hand in a string of huge songs and albums by bands and people such as Ratt, Twisted Sister, Gary Moore, Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Dweezil Zappa, Winger, Warrant, Europe, Bad Brains, and many more.
Beau contacted us out of the blue during November last year (09). He mentioned he'd heard about our band from some different radio stations and had listened to our back catalogue online and really liked our songs and Bohdan's vocal style.
We grew up listening to bands and albums that he'd worked on, and his message couldn't have come at a better time as we were in the middle of mixing the songs. We sent him the partially mixed tracks from 'No Way Out' and his pick was 'Cover Up'. and we all thought it would be the perfect track to have him put his spin on.
Less than two months from his initial contact he'd mixed, mastered and sent us back the finished version of the song, and didn't leave us disappointed. It's shaping up as one of the strongest songs on the album. The sounds he pulls are ridiculously big and his style compliments the song beautifully. We're all still pinching ourselves trying to come to grips with the fact that a dude that mixed, played and co-wrote Warrant's 'Cherry Pie' has worked on our album, it's a complete head spin and we are over the moon with his mix.
Fingers crossed we can find a way to work with him in a greater capacity in the near future because he sounds like a terrific guy and really knows his stuff.
