Electronic Music folks?
People, is there anyone else out there who is composing music through purely electronic means? I do play bass, piano and rythym guitar but since December of 2007 I've been diggin' composing via the cool Magix Soundpool samples (I have purchased 7 different volumes = 50,000+ samples). I really like a LOT of music on IAC and am curious if there are musicians like myself who have delve into the electronic. I have lots of influences, Pastorius, Laswell, Corea, Vai, Yes, Floyd, Krishna Das, Ian Anderson, Uzeb, Wooten, Zappa, Manring, Weather Report, Praxis, Mr. Bungle, etc. I think the term "electronic" is shrouded in only house or DJ tracks. My tracks are of several genres; Progressive Latin to Slaptick Funk Thrash to Baroque meets the Neo-Classics, to 80s Rock, to Lounge to Crunch Funk to 50s Jazz. I'm really proud of my stuff and with six CDs under my belt I'm in the midst of my 7th project (I'm thinking the project name is "Assuming Truth", but that's still up-in-the-air). Some of my musicial efforts are dedications; to my wife, my father, my father-in-law, Benazir Bhutto, my cousin-in-law Brian and Christine, my SON (of course), etc. I would love to hear more music in this regard, hmm .... and maybe collaborate? I've been a heavy beat creator!

Be in touch IAC peeps!

I've just added two of your songs to my station

Instrumentally Yours

You may want to get in touch with Xeno71. He also does Electronica. It's different from your style but the two of you could probably create an awesome hybrid of instrumental styles.

I have a few instrumentals you might enjoy like Urban Symphony, Texas Rendevouz, Rocks In Your Head, Hard Times and Renaissance Girl.

I hope that we will see you on the blogs on a regular basis. Nice to meet you! You do excellent work.

first off thx richard for thinking about me.
secound....electronic music is dance music otherwise known as e.d.m. it is the form and art that evolved from electronic sythns and drummachines. Lafontaine i assume you were meaning the way in which one produces their traxs ie(studio verse computer/electronic)?
for me i just deal with pc programs to produce and my genre is trance. I have done collabs before online with fair success. Interest would be ambient projects, my genre but with more world beat percussions, soundscape projects.
i do have a decent sample base but i perfer to make the sound my self vai instrutments in my programs.
p.s. both richard and lafontaine...i know richard put the first cut of "Afterlife" on a station, my bad for not waiting but i wanted feedback. now version 1 and 2 are up on www.soundcloud.com/xeno71.
richard i took your feed back and put in a snare but added effects so it sounds more like a percussive shuffle, also added more clap. Bryon pointed out that i need to add sound effects in the begining and lvl out the percussions and maybe a string instrutment,...so there will be a version 3.0
richard if you can check it out and tell me what ya think that be great.

Xeno - You're welcome! I love bringing artists together whenever possible. I like both versions of Afterlife. I'm not an expert in this genre so I can only judge it through the prism of what I know.
My suggestions are just little hopes that I throw out there for people to try different things but you're obviously the one who knows what he's doing in this field. When I spoke of putting in a snare and/or a handclap somewhere I was thinking of it being on beats 2 and 4 but that's only my opinion because that's where I would put it but your version is equally valid. I love the breakdown. It's very exciting. If you check out my song "Urban Symphony" you'll hear what I mean as far as what you can do with snares on beats 2 and 4 and Kicks on 1 and 3.
