Introductions
Hi everybody.

It occurs to me that I haven't really introduced myself so I thought I'd do just that and tell a bit about what-how-where.

My name is Bobby James and go by the moniker Sign of Descent because Bobby James and Bob James are already somewhat known as other artists and Sign of Descent didn't turn up anything on a google search...lol
I live in sunny Tampa, Florida and have played in bands around the bay for a few years.

Anyhew, I write, record and basically produce all my own stuff. Kind of on a shoestring budget but I am resourceful. I use an old audio-technica condenser mike for vocals and acoustic recording. I plug that into a Tubepre which I also use as a direct box for my bass. That goes to my delta series 44 into my computer. I use a digitech rp250 for my electric guitars into the 44. All that mess gets mixed with an old version of cakewalk hs. Percussion isn't programmed so much as painted on the tracks from a library of live samples. Not loops, though I have used loops as a click track then painted my own on later. Alot of people mistake many of my guitar parts for synth. The song 'Last Page' has only one track of keys and that's pretty light in the mix. The parts that sound like synth are guitar played with pitch shift on the pedal. That same effect is used on the lead break in 'The Disturbing Waltz'. Is this TMI? I guess not; you're still reading. hehe

When I get it all mixed up good I add a touch of multi-band compression in soundforge, convert to mp3 and upload. From me in my living room to your computer. Someday, when I save up enough nickles I'm going to record something in a pro studio...

In the mean time, thanks to all of you who are listening or accidentally clicking on my songs.
