After four years of non-stop touring with stage partner Phatchance, Sydney’s Luke Girgis aka Coptic Soldier has travelled the country on sold out national tours supporting artists such as Bliss n Eso, The Potbelleez, The Herd, Drapht, Pez, The Funkoars, Pegz, Muph n Plutonic and Phrase as well as international heavy weights Method Man and Redman, De La Soul and Planet Asia. In 2009 he launched his street release ‘The Past Three Years Diary’ to a capacity crowd at the popular Oxford Art Factory in Sydney. Now, in 2010 he has teamed up with international soul vocalist Miriam Waks to release their debut EP titled “The Sound of Wings”.

The name Coptic Soldier gives the first indication he’s not your typical emcee - The word "Coptic" derives from the Christian Faith of Coptic Orthodoxy; and "Soldier" was added to represent fighting for what you believe in. Connecting to fans through his honest persona, social commentaries and transparent lyrics, Luke Girgis leaves his listeners with the feeling they have known him for years and that he is not shy of speaking his mind.

Now, this promising solo artist is also part of Sydney collective, ‘I Forget, Sorry!’. ‘I Forget Sorry’, or IFS for short, is a loose group of members and affiliates including Phatchance, Elgen & Johnny Utah and Mind Over Matter who work together closely and design bonuses and incentives for fans. After four years of being heavily involved in the Australian music scene Luke is now turning his experience into action by launching ‘The Girgis Circus’ – a small independent management company representing artists such as Phatchance, Mind Over Matter, Elgen & Johnny Utah and Australian break through pop artist HR King.
