Sight (Ari -David Kannett) represents an evolution in hip-hop consciousness. A true visionary, he pushes the intellectual envelope with street flavor and gripping lyrics. His uniquely inspirational style is both positive and intelligent; A refreshing change from the self-absorbed content that is currently saturating the market. Growing up in Oakland, CA, Sight was exposed to the emergence of the hip-hop and music culture. After listening to some of the first hip-hop tracks ever recorded, he developed a passionate interest and hip-hop quickly became his favorite form of music. At age 16, Sight began writing and performing Dr. Seuss-like children's stories at local talent shows, showing the first signs of his lyrical genius. It was in college, spending a year isolated on an island off the coast of Maine that he began writing hip-hop lyrics. It began as a hobby and as a form of expression and release but he quickly realized his inherent potential. In 2002, Sight started his own independent label, Heart Mind and Soul Productions, with his little brother Soul who is also a hip-hop artist. With chapters in California, Colorado, and soon Florida, HMS is dedicated to promoting positivity through music. After signing a label deal with Boulder based What Are Records? in the spring of 2004, Sight is currently in the studio tracking vocals for his debut CD release due out some time this fall. His smooth delivery is backed by roughly a dozen producers from L.A. to Sweden. He has performed at numerous events including The Vail Film Festival, and The Tranquility Project as well as venues all over Colorado. -Peace Love and Hip Hop
