Rat Verses Rabbit was formed in 2007, and is an independant band that has a combination of covers and original songs. It has been featured in FAULT magazine recently and this gained the band some interest localy as well as internationaly. Their first EP was released early in 2011 called Ferris Wheel. Rat Verses Rabbit has been a unearthed band with the radio station Triple J since 2010. The band has performed recently at venues such as Oddfellows, the Apollo Bay Music Festival, The Colac East Hotel, and the Apollo Bay Agricultural Show. Also main stage at Kana Festival where it was live simulaste on OCR FM, Airies Inlet Music Festival, Ocean Grove Music Festival, Alvie Fest, Otway Shire's Fun in the Square festival, and the 2012 Melbourne Scorcher Festival and as well some local pubs and wineries in Otway Shire.

Rat Verses Rabbit is a combination of original and cover songs, influenced by the Dresden Dolls, The Beatles, Blondie, The Knife and Siouxie and the Banchees, is an accoustic duo.

Phil Connell experienced rock guitarist and bass player and teacher of music. Been in bands such as Black Smith Hopkins, Rastanaught, Smoking Lady Fingers, Sox and What, plays guitar in Rat Verses Rabbit. Co wrote all original songs. Currently post secondary student in Music specialising in guitar at AGME Conservatorium .

Debbie Manallack student in Music also studying at AGME Conservatorium in a Bachelor of Music in voice, having completed a Diploma of Music and a Certificate III in music at MWT Institute and has gone on to further studies in music. She has also completed full time courses such as in dance and performance at Bartuccio's where she was involved in classical singing, modeling, acting and dance. Also studied at Dance Factory.

Sylvia fox has a Diploma of Music in Jazz and is an amzing addition to rat verses rabbit playing keyboard and backing vocals.


Clive Doak on bass. Clive is another addition to the band for 2013 and has also performed in musicals around Australia. Clive has a Diploma of Music.
