It was 1975 and I was learning the violin, there was a lot of music my teacher would rather I didn’t hear. I was listening to top 40 bubblegum pop rock and spinning 45’s and I thought one day that there was just had to be something more out there. Then Walk This Way came on the radio and everything changed. (though I hate anything Asmith did after 1979.) Next it was the ‘Pistols’ later Heart’s Barracuda. Later AC/DC, Led Zeppelin broke up and then I found out who they were. I’m at the end of 20 year obsession with LZ. Long after Nirvana’s demise I started to love them. Still do, but recently it’s been a lot of Incubus, but I love the indie stuff going on out there. All the while I was in different garage bands, friends and free beer. Now days I love qbo from D.F. México. http://www.myspace.com/qbomusic

My CD collection goes just 2 ways: Rock or classical. It’s as if I didn’t change much since that day I heard Walk This Way for the first time, the classical music reminds me of being 8 years old and saying, “I want to play the violin”, my faves now are Respighi, Holst and Stravinsky and the amazing arrangements of Carl Stalling. And the rock CDs, it’s as if I haven’t changed but there are lots more gutsy bands that have come (and gone) along since then.

Now days we are virtual, Chris records drums for us, Bill plays the drums, Chris sends bass tracks by email, an online time lapse collab. Works good, hear for yourself!
